Mike's POP Shop and Somers Philanthropy: Making a Difference in Salem

Today, we had the incredible opportunity to give back to our community by organizing a food handout for the unhoused population in downtown Salem. Thanks to the unwavering support of our customers, Somers Philanthropy was able to feed 45 individuals today.

We partnered with King Famous Roast Beef & Seafood in Salem, MA, purchasing six large cheese pizzas to distribute (you can check them out here). Additionally, we prepared 40 sandwiches and provided bags of chips, water, and granola bars. The experience of speaking with everyone today was profoundly impactful. We learned about their immediate needs and discussed how we can better support them and other unhoused communities in the future.

Efforts like this are only possible because of your generous support. We are currently working on a dedicated website for Somers Philanthropy. Once launched, you will be able to donate directly through the site. Rest assured, a portion of every purchase made at Mike's POP Shop will continue to be donated to Somers Philanthropy.

If you would like to go a step further and donate supplies, please feel free to send them to: 4 Essex Center Dr, PO Box 3884, Peabody, MA 01960.

A special thank you to my amazing wife, Ashley, for her invaluable help with the preparation, and to Zared, the Director of Somers Philanthropy, for his dedication in both the preparation and handout.

We are also working on a video from this event, which will be added to this blog and our website soon. Stay tuned for more updates!

Thank you once again for your continued support. Together, we are making a meaningful difference.

Warm regards,

Michael Somers
